Before 2021 I was a regular student. I had just graduated high school and gotten into the medical school of my dreams. But at the start of 2021 everything changed.
I decided to embark on an adventure that is helping me grow into the best version of myself. I re-discovered my passion for windsurfing and decided, on a whim, to try and compete in the new Olympic windsurf class called iQ Foil.
Without any previous foiling experience that goal was — and still is — incredibly ambitious, and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I struggled through many setbacks and was close to giving up more times than I can count.
My drive to challenge myself and to step outside my comfort zone to achieve the unachievable has kept me going through all the ups and downs.
In April 2024 my dream came true: I qualified Switzerland for the Olympic Games. Despite that, I was not allowed to compete, as I was not selected by Swiss Sailing. It was a huge disappointment — and I decided not to let it stop me. My eyes are firmly set on LA 2028.
I share the road as it is — the podiums and the days the wind, the body or the budget says no.
I left a medical degree for a board, a sail and an open ocean. Comfort zones are overrated.
I stand up for women in sport and encourage others to chase their own dreams with a full heart.
